Linda L. Foster is Of Counsel to Dansker & Aspromonte, where she specializes in immigration practice, real estate transactions and business matters. Ms. Foster is especially experienced in immigration litigation, including asylum, removal proceedings and appellate work. She also has many years of experience helping clients obtain work visas and permanent residency.
Born and raised in Rochester, New York, Ms. Foster attended the University of Rochester and the State University of New York at Stony Brook, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in History and Chinese Language in 1976. She graduated from New York Law School in 1981, after having served as an editor for the New York Law School Journal of International & Comparative Law. After graduation, Ms. Foster was awarded a Ford Foundation scholarship to study Chinese law at the East China School of Law & Politics in Shanghai, China, in a program sponsored by the Columbia University School of Law and the Ford Foundation. Ms. Foster is admitted to practice law in the New York State Courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Federal District Courts in New York City.
Ms. Foster worked for several years in New York City's Chinatown, where she assisted clients with residential and commercial real estate transactions, commercial litigation and business acquisitions, as well as helping new immigrants win permanent residency. In 1985, Ms. Foster opened her own practice, where she was particularly well-known for her successes in Immigration Court on behalf of Chinese, Albanian, Kosovar and other Eastern European clients in New York, New Jersey, and Washington, D.C.
Ms. Foster is a member of the Board of Directors and serves on the Executive Committee for the not-for-profit organization, Quality Services for the Autistic Community (QSAC), an award-winning agency that helps New York City's autistic residents and their families.
