Robert S. Pinkiert, Partner, first won recognition as an astute litigator in The Estate of Bobby Kent v. Puccio, et al, a high-profile case involving a South Florida family whose son was murdered by his friends in an empty lot. Robert represented the family in a civil lawsuit against the parents of the teenage perpetrators. The landmark 1993 case attempted to assign responsibility to the parents for the criminal acts of their children.
In a highly publicized auto negligence case, Pinkiert was co-counsel with his partners Alan Neufeld and David Kleinberg in Edwin Mejia and Nelly Mejia vs. Manheim Auctions Government Services. In a horrific car accident, Edwin Mejia was left severely brain damaged requiring round-the-clock care. In a highly contested case, the lawyers won the largest verdict in state history for an automobile accident case, resulting in a $23.5 million damage award.
Robert is a master of negotiation. With his keen business sense, paired with his extensive experience in multiple types of negligence, insurance, and personal injuries, Robert is able to effectuate extraordinary verdicts, awards, and settlements. In addition, his hard-edged style and infectious sense of humor create a winning combination when dealing with tough insurance adjusters, ultimately resulting in the best interest of NKP clients.
Robert received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida in 1988, and completed his legal studies at the Shepard Broad Law Center of Nova Southeastern University. He has successfully handled and resolved thousands of cases involving injuries or death caused by automobile accidents, medical malpractice, security negligence, and premises negligence.
Prior to joining NKP in 2002, Robert was a partner with Reifkind & Pinkiert, P.A., with offices in both Hollywood and Boca Raton. He then formed his own law firm in Plantation, Florida, where he achieved impressive results for his clients and secured his reputation as a no-nonsense litigator.
In addition to the Circuit Courts throughout the State of Florida, Robert is licensed to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. He was on the Board of Directors of the Nova Southeastern Law School Alumni. He was also a member of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation Young Leadership Division and was a member of the Association of Florida Trial Lawyers and the Broward County Trial Lawyers Association.
