Peter M. Pearl is a member of the Business, Finance and Real Estate practice group and concentrates his practice in the areas of bankruptcy law and workouts.
Pete has been practicing law for over two decades in bankruptcy and creditor's rights. Prior to joining Sands Anderson PC, he was a partner with and headed the Commercial and Bankruptcy Law Section of a major Atlanta, Georgia law firm where he practiced for nearly 17 years. Pete's client representation has included Trans World Airlines, Inc., Avianca Airlines and Air Atlanta, Inc. as debtor's counsel, UNR Industries, Inc. as examiner's counsel, counsel to a number of committees, counsel to DIP lenders, and counsel to a number of court appointed trustees. He has also represented a variety of other secured and unsecured creditor clients in major bankruptcy cases and workouts.
A native of Martinsville, Virginia, Pete received his B.A. degree from Washington & Lee University in 1978. He earned his J.D. degree from George Mason University in 1982.
Admitted to practice in Virginia and Georgia, Mr. Pearl has lectured on various topics of bankruptcy law and workouts. He is a member of the Virginia and Georgia Bar Associations and the American Bankruptcy Institute. Mr. Pearl served as Chair of the Bankruptcy Section of the Atlanta Bar Association in 2002 and 2003 and was a board member of the section for six years. Pete is rated AV by Martindale Hubbell, indicating the highest level of experience and professional ethics given by his fellow legal professionals through the peer review system of the LexisNexis company.
