Lucas S. Colligan was born and raised in Church Point, Louisiana. He attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where he studied Political Science, History, French and English. Thereafter, Lucas attended Loyola University College of Law, where he graduated with distinction and cum laude honors. Throughout Law School, Lucas dedicated himself to public service and pro bono assignments. While attending law school in New Orleans during the wake of Hurricane Katrina, Lucas worked with local governments in St. Bernard Parish and the City of New Orleans, the Louisiana Attorney General, and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. The greatest lesson Lucas learned during this period is that the legal system—when utilized appropriately—can maintain accountability and restore the lives of people who have been affected by sudden disaster.
Having a deep interest in the oil and gas industry, Lucas focuses his practice on platform incidents, vessel accidents, and general maritime law. As an attorney Lucas has litigated many Jones Act and LHWCA Claims, Offshore Accidents, Oil Well Blowouts, 18-wheeler Accidents and Auto Accidents. Lucas’ goal is to communicate frequently with his clients while providing them with aggressive, effective and valuable representation.
Lucas is a member of the Louisiana Bar Association and the Lafayette Bar Association. He resides in Lafayette, Louisiana with his wife, Laura Colligan.
