David L. Fairbanks has practiced law for over thirty years, was previously a partner with another major Honolulu law firm, and joined the firm in 1985. Mr. Fairbanks has been a member of the Hawaii Federal Judicial Selection Commission, a member of the Merit Selection Panel of the U.S. District Court for the District of Hawaii, a member of the Judicial Selection Commission for the State of Hawaii, a board member of Hawaii Lawyers Care, and a trustee of the Client's Security Trust Fund of the Hawaii Supreme Court. He has been a lawyer representative to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference for Hawaii and a commissioner for the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education. He is a hearings officer for the Office of Disciplinary Counsel and served as chairman of the Local Rules Committee for the U.S. District Court for the District of Hawaii. Mr. Fairbanks obtained his law degree from Santa Clara University where he was an editor of the Law Review. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, the International Society of Barristers and a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
