Laura Coates worked as a freelance theatre artist in Chattanooga and Atlanta prior to practicing law. Among other theatrical endeavors, she worked on the Suzie Award winning play, "A Year With Frog & Toad," was selected as a writer for the New South Young Playwrights Festival, and performed as a storyteller in the Tour of Southern Ghosts in Stone Mountain Georgia. Laura also enjoys working with at risk and special needs children. She has given theatre workshops for inner city children, worked as a one-on-one aide for a child with Autism, served as the vice president of the Georgia State College of Law Child Advocacy Society, and taught law seminars to at risk youth through the local Atlanta "Street Law" program.
