Mr. Ovard was born and raised in Henefer, Utah, and is also an alumnus of Utah State University. He still has a great passion for Aggie Athletics.
After graduate school, Mr. Ovard decided to stay in the south for law school and attended the University of Arkansas, Little Rock.
During law school, Mr. Ovard worked as clinical social worker in a variety of different settings, including a high risk juvenile treatment facility, so he is highly equipped to deal with all juvenile criminal matters. Mr. Ovard's experience as a social worker has helped develop people skills that enable him to relate to people of all backgrounds, and possess empathy for people regardless of their situation. Mr. Ovard's law school friends say that he has never met a stranger.

Mr. Ovard clerked for the Pulaski County Prosecutor's Office in Little Rock, Arkansas during his last eight months of law school, and was able to gain a lot of great experience. He tried ten bench trials during law school, and also spent a lot of time observing and learning in the courtroom. Mr. Ovard was trained to evaluate cases like a prosecutor. His experience at the Prosecutor's Office enables him to see things how Prosecutors do, and plan and approach a case accordingly. Mr. Ovard enjoyed his time at the Prosecutor's Office, but loves the opportunity and privilege to defend individuals who are accused of crimes and help them through the process. He works tirelessly to defend his client's Constitutional rights, and to ensure that the right result is reached.
