Attorney Rani Clarkin practices primarily in the area of Assisted Reproduction Law for both the Law Offices of Victoria T. Ferrara, P.C. and Worldwide Surrogacy Specialists, LLC.
With regard to her Worldwide involvement, she works closely with Intended Parents on all legal aspects of their surrogacy journey. From the initial drafting of the gestational surrogacy contract, to managing the negotiation process, and through to obtaining the fully executed contracts, Rani works closely with our clients and is intimately involved in the entire lifecycle of the representation, to insure that client needs are thoroughly and zealously advocated.
On the law firm side, she represents intended parents, carriers and donors in all facets of the Assisted Reproductive Law contract, including provisions covering egg donation, sperm donation and independent surrogacy.
Rani graduated from Pace Law School, in White Plains, New York in 1994. She focused her studies on Environmental Law, receiving her Environmental Law certification, and serving as a Managing Editor for the Environmental Law Review. During her third year of law school, she participated in the Pace Environmental Litigation Clinic under co-director Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. The Pace Environmental Litigation Clinic intensively immersed her in an environmental law practice which represented the Hudson Riverkeeper, Inc., among various other public interest groups. The Riverkeeper's mission is to protect the waters of the Hudson River system, parts of which flow from the Adirondacks to Long Island Sound.
After graduation, she worked at Periconi and Rothberg, P.C., a boutique environmental law firm in New York City, before working for LexisNexis. After taking a brief hiatus from the practice of law to raise a family, Attorney Clarkin eagerly returned to practice in the exciting and ground breaking field of Assisted Reproductive Law. She is licensed in Connecticut and New York. Rani graduated from Rutgers University, with a double major in Journalism and Psychology.
She dedicates her free time providing pro bono work as a coach for the Mock Trial team at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School in Fairfield, CT. She also supports Fairfield Little League, including most recently her son's 2012 team which made it to the Little League World Series. She lives in Fairfield, CT with her family.
