Neil P. Clain, Jr., is a 1980 graduate of the Duke University School of Law, where he was a member of the Editorial Board of the Legal Research program and served as the Co-Director of the Appellate Advocacy Program for Third Year Practice before the United States Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit. Mr. Clain earned his undergraduate degree in philosophy from the University of Florida, where he earned the highest college and university honors.
Mr. Clain devotes most of his practice to complex litigation, with a concentration upon the litigation of professional liability, insurance, environmental, and products liability claims. Mr. Clain has, for example, defended design professionals against multi-million dollar claims involving both partial and total building collapse, fire, construction delays, personal injury, and death; he has represented a wide variety of product manufacturers in serious injury cases involving brain damage, amputation, crippling burns, and death; he has litigated multi-million dollar environmental liability claims; he has defended attorney and accountant malpractice actions; he has counseled insurers on their coverage obligations and policy rights; he has litigated complex insurance coverage claims and insurance agent/broker liability cases; and he has been involved with overseeing nationwide claims monitoring efforts.
Mr. Clain is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute and the Pennsylvania Defense Institute.
Mr. Clain is the co-editor of the Powell Trachtman Design Professional's Practice Bulletin.
