Dickson Chin represents developers, financial institutions, investors, energy marketers, utilities, commercial users, and other market participants in a wide range of energy transactions. His practice encompasses energy marketing and trading, renewable energy, project finance and development, mergers and acquisitions, and climate change.
Dickson has extensive experience with master agreements, purchase and sale agreements, energy management agreements, and credit support documents involving all types of commodities (including electricity, natural gas, coal, renewable energy certificates, carbon offsets, emission allowances, and weather). He has advised clients in renewable energy projects related to wind, biomass, and solar and in the creation and trading of carbon offsets in the United States. He also assists clients with the intercreditor, bankruptcy, and regulatory considerations related to energy transactions.
Dickson is a frequent speaker on industry topics and has actively participated in the development of industry agreements for physical and financial commodities and master netting arrangements with the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA), the Edison Electric Institute (EEI), and the Coal Trading Association (CTA).
