Stuart Chasanoff's practice is focused on representing equity sponsor groups in LBOs and other private equity financings, buyers and sellers in mergers and acquisition transactions, and issuers and underwriters in public and private securities offerings. He also provides general corporate and securities law advice, including advice regarding compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.
Stuart has represented Bay Harbour Management in several transactions, including the $660 million acquisition of the Aladdin Resort & Casino by a Bay Harbour-led group, and continues to represent the new owners in their renovation and expansion of the Aladdin. He has also represented SKM Growth Investors and several other large private equity firms.
Prior to joining Jones Day, Stuart was senior vice president and general counsel of Novo Networks/eVentures Group, a public venture capital and operating company involved in investing in and operating broadband communications networks and service businesses. Stuart's role at Novo/eVentures grew out of his experiences as vice president and general counsel of HW Partners, a hedge fund management company. At HW Partners, Stuart was responsible for overseeing the formation, capital raising, and operations of several hedge funds engaged in PIPE, merger arbitrage, and currency arbitrage strategies. Stuart started his legal career as an associate in the New York office of White & Case and also worked in the legal department of PepsiCo.
