Kevin O'Brien is an associate with Harper Evans Wade and Netemeyer. Kevin graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Missouri in 1992. He received his JD degree from The University of Missouri Kansas City in 1998. Kevin began his career as a Missouri Assistant Public Defender and worked as a trial attorney and from 1998 to 2009. Kevin was the District Defender of the Boone County Public Defender's Office from 2004 to 2009.
Kevin exclusively concentrates on the areas of Federal and State criminal law representing individuals and organizations charged with murder, fraud, sex and drug offenses. Kevin has first chaired over 30 felony jury trials and won not guilty verdicts for his clients in cases involving drugs, armed robbery, assault, stealing, theft and DWI.
In addition to extensive trial experience Kevin has been a long time member of the Missouri Bar: Criminal Law Committee. He has authored treatises for the Missouri Bar on criminal practice and served on the Missouri Bar's legislative review subcommittee focusing on pending criminal legislation. Currently Kevin chairs the criminal law subcommittee of the Boone County Bar.
Kevin is married and a father of four. He and his family lives in Columbia Missouri. In addition to shuttling his kids between soccer, swimming, baseball and cub scouts he has served on the Boone County Mental Health Board of Trustees and The Board of Directors for West Broadway Swim Club. Kevin and his wife Ann are members of First Presbyterian Church, Columbia Missouri.
Kevin is admitted to the Missouri Bar and the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri.
