Nuss, Christopher L.

In addition to practicing law, Craig Nierman serves as an expert witness in insurance cases and works as a paid consultant to other attorneys involved in insurance litigation. He also lectures at legal conferences on insurance issues.

He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Iowa, all federal and state district courts in Iowa, as well as the United States Court of Appeals, Eighth Circuit. He is a member of the American Bar Association (Tort, Trial, and Insurance Practice Section), Iowa Bar Association, Johnson County Bar Association, American Association for Justice (Insurance and Motor Vehicle Collision Sections), Iowa Trial Lawyers Association (Workers' Compensation Section), and Christian Legal Society.

Mr. Nierman founded this firm in 2001 after practicing in the areas of insurance law, business law, and civil litigation for another Iowa law firm. Prior to attending law school, he managed injury, property, and litigated claims for the nation's largest insurance company. Previously, he worked for an insurance trade association and several insurance agents.

He graduated from the University of Iowa, College of Law with High Distinction and was named to the Order of the Coif. During law school, he was a Law Merit Scholar, served as a judge for the Moot Court Board, and completed some graduate level work at the University of Iowa, College of Business. He earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of California, Davis.

Craig was born in Bloomington, Illinois and has lived in the Iowa City-Coralville area since 1993. He has been married to his high school sweetheart for eighteen years. They have two children and are active members of Parkview Evangelical Free Church. He enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, involvement in his kids’ activities, the fall color in Iowa, and white water rafting.
