Nunn, David Layne

Mr. Nichols has over 30 years of experience in employee benefits law and executive compensation. He just joined the Employee Benefits Department of Laner, Muchin, Dombrow, Becker, Levin, & Tominberg, Ltd. as a partner in August 2010.

Mr. Nichols is experienced in all aspects of tax-qualified retirement plans, welfare benefits, non-qualified plans and executive compensation. He has represented large public companies, small and mid-sized private companies, tax-exempt employers, municipalities, professional service businesses, individual executives and Taft-Hartley pension and benefit funds. He has extensive experience in specialized areas such as IRS and DOL correction programs, Employee Stock Ownership Plans, stock options and other equity-based compensation programs, COBRA and HIPAA compliance, multiemployer pension withdrawal liability, and the benefits aspects of business mergers, acquisitions and restructurings. He is a frequent speaker on benefits and executive compensation topics, has been a guest lecturer at Chicago-Kent College of Law, consulted on the drafting of the 1990 Illinois Small Employer Accident and Health Insurance Law and served on the Illinois State Chamber of Commerce Health Care Cost Management Committee from 1986 - 1993.
