Novotny, Galen M.

Pam is the managing partner at O’Connell & Aronowitz, and practices primarily in the firm’s personal injury litigation department. Her accomplishments tackling the legal issues that arise during litigation have been critical to the litigation department’s overall success. Pam’s compassion has made her popular with the parents and relatives of the many injured children we represent. She has demonstrated her proficiency in a number of diverse areas, including personal injury, products liability, medical malpractice, antitrust, automobile accidents, and labor law class actions. Her experience representing insurance companies combined with her skillful approach has been instrumental in negotiating several of our largest settlements. Pam also assists with the firm's extensive appellate practice and has argued cases in numerous State and Federal Courts throughout the State.

In addition, Pam is the supervising partner of the firm's professional discipline practice. She has successfully represented physicians at the Office of Professional Medical Conduct and other professionals, such nurses, chiropractors and pharmacists at the Office of Professional Discipline, who are facing disciplinary action and/or license revocation.

Prior to working in the firm's litigation department, Pamela practiced extensively in our Health Law department, representing health care facilities, practitioners and suppliers. In this capacity, she advised clients on licensure, reimbursement, billing and receivables, medical records issues and regulatory compliance and discipline. Pam has lectured widely on such topics as: the admission and discharge of long-term care residents, collection of accounts receivable, confidentiality matters related to the maintenance and release of HIV/AIDS records, and provider response and compliance to subpoenas and search warrants. Before coming to O'Connell and Aronowitz, Pam worked extensively in the area of medical malpractice and personal injury defense litigation.

Active in the local community, Pam recently partnered with endDD.org to bring awareness of the dangers of distracted driving to local high school students. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Clifton Park Youth Hockey Organization.
