Joining the Willoughby, Stuart & Bening team in 2010, Landers Niven is an attorney specializing in business litigation with an emphasis on litigation-based insurance issues. He frequently handles matters regarding construction, real estate and personal injury. Landers has particular experience in handling first party coverage and third party liability matters as they relate to homeowners, liability, and auto policies. While studying law and prior to becoming an associate, Landers was a law clerk for the firm. He is admitted to practice before all courts in California and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District, as well as enjoying active membership in the Santa Clara County Bar Association.
Landers earned his law degree from Syracuse University College of Law. During law school, he was honored with the National Security and Counter terrorism Law Certificate and was a Student Senator of the Student Affairs Committee. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of California at Riverside, where he was honored with several distinctions including; Chancellor's Honor List, Dean's Honor List, Psi Chi International Honor Society, and Order of Omega.
Landers is also actively involved in philanthropic endeavors. Prior to obtaining his Juris Doctor he volunteered to live in Ghana to assist a not-for-profit organization build schools for children. While in Africa, Landers helped negotiate fair pricing for school supplies from American suppliers and tutored Ghanaian kids in a variety of academic subjects. Landers has also been engaged in the business community as the co-founder of a start-up corporation that develops, manufactures, and distributes specialty pet nutritional supplements.
Landers was raised and currently lives in San Jose. When he's not in the office he enjoys traveling, playing softball, and is an avid supporter of Bay Area sports teams.
