Bill Norvell heads the firm's Intellectual Property Litigation section with more than 35 years of experience in the areas of patent, trademark, trade secrets, and copyright law. He has represented clients in a variety of technology areas, including oil field equipment, chemical compositions, medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, building materials, computer hardware and software (including e-commerce software), electronic communications products and services, optical lens, electronic safety communications equipment, lighting equipment, sub-sea pipeline devices, pneumatic and hydraulic devices and control systems, mechanical fluid agitation devices, and fluid flow meters and associated electronic equipment. Mr. Norvell has represented clients as plaintiffs and defendants in matters relating to preliminary and permanent injunctions, and to seizures of counterfeited and infringing goods, as well as in appeals and procedural orders in appellate courts. He has also been engaged as an expert witness and consultant in numerous patent, trade secret, and unfair competition matters.
