Mr. Nanney has been practicing business, commercial, and construction law in North Carolina for more than 20 years. His clients range from individuals to large corporations. Mr. Nanney has litigated commercial disputes throughout the United States for over twenty years. He has conducted numerous jury trials, bench trials, arbitrations and mediations.
Mr. Nanney has represented owners, developers, contractors, architects and sureties in numerous public and private construction projects. He also has worked extensively with clients involved in a wide variety of trademark and copyright disputes in state and federal courts, as well as before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the United States Patent and Trademark Office in Washington, DC.
As a trial lawyer, Mr. Nanney has represented a wide range of clients, including: physicians, pharmacists, small business owners, pharmaceutical companies, retailers, manufacturers, software creators, and real estate agents. He has prosecuted and defended claims that run the gamut from simple contract disputes to complex professional negligence cases.
Mr. Nanney has appeared before many state licensing boards on behalf of clients accused of violating various regulatory schemes, including appearances before: the North Carolina Medical Board; the North Carolina Board of Physical Therapy Examiners; the North Carolina Board of Architecture; the North Carolina Licensing Board for General Contractors; the North Carolina Real Estate Commission; and the North Carolina State Board for Certified Public Accountant Examiners.
In addition to resolving disputes, Mr. Nanney has drafted, reviewed and negotiated scores of contracts involving a wide range of goods and services, including construction contracts for several multi-million dollar projects in Research Triangle Park.
