Michael C. Najjar has been handling litigation for over 30 years in multiple legal fields including accident cases, worker's compensation claims, divorce, criminal defense, zoning disputes, social security, insurance coverage issues and contract claims. His expertise in auto insurance and motor vehicle accident related issues has been recognized by the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys for which he serves as Chairperson of the Auto Section. He has lectured and written on these topics several times for MCLE (Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education) and has testified frequently before state House of Representatives and Senate committees, the Division of Insurance, and the Attorney General's office on motor vehicle insurance legislative and regulatory issues.

Mr. Najjar's experience includes trials in District and Superior Courts, appellate arguments at the Massachusetts Appeals Court and Supreme Judicial Court and hearings before administrative bodies. His cases have ranged from death and severe injuries caused by construction accidents to negligence claims with more common less severe injuries, from small home improvement contract disputes to business controversies involving hundreds of thousands of dollars, from drunk driving cases to sexual assault and battery. He brings a practicality, imaginativeness, and incisiveness to his cases which help to curtail excessive litigation and reach effective resolutions whenever possible. He uses that same skill as one of the team of conciliators who volunteer their time to help settle cases for the Superior Court in Lowell. His trial expertise is reflected in successful 'snow and ice' injury verdicts, which are rare, as well as verdicts for people who at first glance appeared to have caused their own injuries.

His facility with legal concepts, particularly involving insurance law and the preservation of remedies for injured people, has been recognized by the trial lawyer's organization which has designated him to write 'friend of the court briefs on cases with broad based legal ramifications. He also has drafted legislation to regulate harmful insurance practices and presented the opposition to legislative proposals sponsored by insurance companies to cut benefits.

Mr. Najjar is a graduate of Cornell University and Boston University School of Law. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Greater Lowell Bar Association, and serves on the Board of Governors for the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys.
