DEAN N. MUREDDU
I graduated from Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama in 1993. After graduation, I accepted a position at the Horry County Public Defender's Office, and worked there from 1994 until 1998 as a trial attorney in the felony crimes division. During this time, I handled all types of felony charges, including Murder, Criminal Sexual Conduct, Drug Trafficking, Drug Distribution and Possession charges, Burglaries and Larcenies, and all other miscellaneous felonies. I was also certified to appear and practice in the United States District Court of South Carolina.
In my last year at the Public Defender's Office I took over the Magistrate Court Division, and continue to handle such cases through the Defender's Office under a private contract. This opportunity allowed me to become quite proficient and experienced in handling complex traffic cases such as Driving Under the Influence, Driving Under Suspension and all other miscellaneous misdemeanor offenses.
Since my admission to the Bar in 1994, I have represented hundreds of clients involving cases dealing with felony and misdemeanor trials. I left the Public Defender's Office in April of 1998 to enter private practice with the Monckton Law Firm, P.A. I continue to focus my practice in the area of criminal defense, especially cases involving Driving Under the Influence. I also participate in all of the firm's civil cases that encompass trial work.
