Ms. Morrison joined Smith Hood Bigman in 2013 as an associate attorney working in our litigation practice group. She has experience dealing with Federal agencies including U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Federal Maritime Commission, and the U.S. Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration on issues relating to obtaining federal transportation intermediary licenses; classification of goods, forfeitures, seizures, and mitigation of penalties; prior disclosures, trademark and copyright recordation and infringement.
Prior to law school, Ms. Morrison attended the University of Mississippi where she double-majored in English and Political Science with a concentration in Middle Eastern Studies. She spent two-years in the hospitality and real estate industries in Biloxi, Mississippi, gaining invaluable insight into the needs of clients and customers. Additionally, for the three years immediately prior to joining Smith Hood Bigman, Ms. Morrison worked in the legal field and began practicing law in Tallahassee, Florida, concentrating her practice in the areas of international trade, customs law, and trial work.
Ms. Morrison graduated from Florida State University College of Law in 2011 having focused her studies on international law and trial work, both civil and criminal. She participated at the state and national level of both the FSU Mock Trial and Moot Court teams where she honed her skills as an advocate for her clients in the courtroom. While in law school, Ms. Morrison also worked as a Certified Legal Intern for the 2nd Circuit State Attorney's Office in Leon County where she gained valuable experience in case analysis, jury selection, trial preparation, and trial work.
