Ms. Sumita Arora has been associated with Hogan & Vandenberg LLC since 2009. Sumita grew up overseas as a daughter of a diplomat. She lived in Tanzania France, Peru and India, before settling down in Pennsylvania. Sumita is a graduate of Temple University School of Law (LL.M., 2002), and the National Law School of India University (B.A., LL.B. – Hons., 1994). She is admitted to practice in State of New York. She is conversational in French, Spanish, Urdu/hindi and Punjabi.
Drawing upon her extensive international experience, Sumita has dedicated her legal career to the practice of U.S. immigration law. Additionally, Sumita has done pro bono legal work for the Nationalities Service Center, Philadelphia and regularly advices on ImmigrationVoice a non-profit organization dealing with issues pertaining to high skilled immigrants. Sumita’s prior experience includes working with a local immigration law firm and in two large corporate law firms in New Delhi, India.
She has experience with family-based immigrant visas, marriage-based visas, fiancé(e) visas, the diversity visa lottery, adjustment of status, naturalization, consular processing. Her employment-based immigration experience includes work with PERM, H-1B, H-2B, L, R, EB-1, EB-2, EB-3 and TN cases, ability to pay and AC21 issues. Sumita has worked with both small and large businesses, including hospitals, universities, schools, churches, IT consulting and computer software companies, and investment firms. In addition, she works with human resources departments on I-9 employment verification matters and on due diligence issues including I-9 and H-1B/ LCA internal audits and reviews.
