Justin has an extensive discrimination practice, and has broad experience fighting for the rights of employees who have been the victims of workplace discrimination or harassment.
He began working in the area of employment law as an Employee Relations Specialist for a large construction and engineering company. In that role, he conducted internal investigations of employee complaints, performed legal research and brief writing for mediations and arbitrations, and learned how companies construct and develop their legal defense upon receiving employee complaints.
After graduating from law school, Justin’s legal career began as an in-house Labor and Employment Attorney for a Fortune 250 company that boasted, at one time, nearly 50,000 employees. As an in-house attorney he attended to the case management and defense of the full panoply of employment-related litigation and administrative proceedings, in addition to advising company personnel of changes in the law. He analyzed lawsuits and administrative charges to determine information necessary to successfully defend an action, and with consultation of the Director determined the valuation of lawsuits and/or administrative charges.
Throughout the years he spent working for corporations, Justin knew that his passion was for representing the workers, not defending against their claims. Eventually, in 2012, he left and started J. R. Mueller, PLLC, a firm dedicated to protecting employees, and pursuing claims against employers who violate their legal rights.
MILITARY EXPERIENCE
Justin was enlisted in the Army for six years, spending one year deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (2004-2005).
