Samuel A. Mormino, Jr. has been an attorney associated with this firm and its predecessor, the Wiseman Law Firm, since his entry into law school in 1985, and graduation in 1987. Over that time period, he has devoted his practice primarily to the representation of plaintiffs in personal injury litigation, workers' compensation claims, and a variety of civil litigation matters. He was born and raised in Alton, Illinois, and one of seven children. His father, Sam, Sr., was a machinist at Owens-Illinois Machine Shop in Godfrey, and his mother worked for Illinois Bell, having started as a telephone operator. Sam spent his childhood under the shadows of the smoke stacks of Laclede Steel on the east side of Alton. He attended Alton High School and graduated in 1980. Following his graduation, he went on to the University of Missouri Columbia earning a double major in economics and political science. Following his graduation, he followed his childhood dream to become a lawyer, and attended Southern Illinois University, where he received his law degree in 1987, Magna Cum Laude.
During his time in law school, he was a member of the National Moot Court Team, which participated in national competitions in Minneapolis and New York.
His legal career began in 1985 when he was hired by Irving Wiseman and Richard Shaikewitz as a clerk for the law firm, and worked during law school for the firm. After his graduation, he joined the firm, and has worked there ever since.
He married his college sweetheart Grace in 1987, and they have resided in Alton/Godfrey area since then. Grace is an occupational therapist, and has worked for a variety of healthcare services, including Catholic Children's Home, St. Anthony's Hospital and currently Endura Care. They have been blessed with a daughter Helen, who is 8 years old, and attends St. Mary's Catholic School in Alton.
