Moses, Jolyn J.

Niki Moore is a senior associate in the firm's Litigation/Controversy Department, and a member of the Business Trial Practice Group. She joined the firm in 2007.

Practice

Ms. Moore's practice is primarily focused on complex commercial litigation and intellectual property disputes. She has successfully represented corporations, financial institutions and individuals in state, federal district and appellate courts throughout the United States, and in all phases of litigation including trial. Ms. Moore was selected by the firm as a Pickering Fellow, and completed a six month internship with the Asian Law Caucus (ALC), a San Francisco-based civil rights organization. Her work at ALC focused on post-9/11 civil rights issues in the national security context and the effects of economic sanctions on United States citizens and permanent residents.

Prior to beginning her legal career, Ms. Moore was a senior research assistant with the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, where she conducted cancer research and gene mutation analysis. Previously, she served as a research technician in the Human Genome Sequencing Center and the Department of Neurosurgery at Baylor College of Medicine.

Professional Activities

Ms. Moore is the founder of the Northern California Chapter of the Iranian American Bar Association and has served on its board since 2007.  Over the years, she has also contributed to the national IABA in different capacities, including as board member, vice president and chair of various national committees. Ms. Moore is also a member of the San Francisco Bar Association.

Ms. Moore is an adjunct professor at the University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law, where she teaches a course titled "The Junior Attorney: Expectations, Responsibilities and Realities." She also volunteers as a Citizen Teacher in Citizen Schools' mock trial program. Citizen Schools is a national non-profit organization dedicated to providing after-school education for middle-school children.

• Received the Minority Bar Coalition's Unity Award for her work with IABA and other minority bar associations in 2010
• Listed as a "Rising Star" by the Minority Bar Coalition in 2009
