Mr. Mooney is a partner in the Commercial Litigation Department. He focuses his practice on business disputes.
Mr. Mooney has expertise in litigation of disputes involving contracts, insurance coverage, shareholders disputes, securities, real estate and construction, and intellectual property and has tried cases and argued appeals in the Pennsylvania and New Jersey state and federal courts.
In 2009, Mr. Mooney obtained a $2.5 million arbitration judgment for a local biotechnology firm against a French equipment manufacturer for breach of a licensing agreement.
Mr. Mooney holds a B.S. in Finance from of the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School, and obtained his J.D., magna cum laude, from Temple University School of Law, where he finished third in his class and served as a Note/Comment Editor of the Temple Law Review.
He serves as a Judge Pro Tem for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas and is a member of the American Arbitration Association Commercial Panel, the Philadelphia Stock Exchange Arbitration Panel, and the Pennsylvania Bar Association Professional Liability Committee. He serves as Chair of the Firm's Professional Responsibility Committee. In 2009, 2010 and 2011, Mr. Mooney was selected in a survey of his peers as a Pennsylvania "Super Lawyer" by Law & Politics magazine, and has been selected for inclusion in the 2010 Corporate Counsel Edition of Super Lawyers Magazine. Mr. Mooney has been AV rated by the Martindale-Hubbell peer review rating system.
He has volunteered for 25 years with the Support Center for Child Advocates and received the organization's Outstanding Advocate Award in 2007. He was appointed to the First Judicial District Pro Bono Honor Roll in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
