Guy Modica, born in Shreveport, Louisiana, received his Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University in 1963. After serving his country as an officer in the Army, he attended the Paul M. Hebert (LSU) Law Center. While in law school, he was a member of the Moot Court Board, Phi Alpha Delta, and a Flory Trials participant. He received his Juris Doctor degree in 1969 and was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar that same year.
In 1970, Mr. Modica was admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Middle and Eastern District Courts of Louisiana and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit. In 1975 he was admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court. Currently, Mr. Modica is a member of the Baton Rouge, Louisiana State and American Bar Associations, the Louisiana Association for Justice (formerly the Louisiana Trial Lawyer's Association) and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He has also served several years as a member of the Board of Governors of the Louisiana Trial Lawyer's Association and the House of Delegates of the Louisiana State Bar Association. Mr. Modica has achieved the highest possible Martindale-Hubbel Peer Review Rating of AV.
Mr. Modica's practice of law has focused on litigation. He has practiced in many areas - criminal, family, bankruptcy, real estate, workers compensation, and personal injury law. Mr. Modica has tried numerous cases throughout Louisiana including, Shreveport, Lake Charles, New Orleans, Alexandria and the Baton Rouge area. Since 1995 Mr. Modica has focused his practice on personal injury law representing injured people and families of wrongful death victims. He has experience in all types of personal injury claims such as those involving automobiles, 18 wheelers, boats, heavy equipment, and on the job injuries.
Mr. Modica is an instrument rated airplane pilot and a Harley Davidson Motorcyclist.
