Eleanor Mixon Attwood is an attorney at the Atlanta law firm of Barrett & Farahany, LLP, representing plaintiffs in employment, overtime and sexual harassment litigation.
Eleanor received her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Georgia. As an undergraduate, she was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Academic Honor Society and graduated magna cum laude. In law school, Eleanor was an editor for the Georgia Law Review, an elite legal journal published by select second- and third-year university law students.
Eleanor clerked for the Honorable Dudley H. Bowen, Jr. for the Southern District of Georgia. Following her clerkship, Eleanor worked with the law firm of Parks, Chesin & Walbert specializing in plaintiff's employment law before joining Barrett & Farahany in 2009.
With a deep appreciation for our judicial system, Eleanor conducts herself first and foremost in a manner that protects the integrity of that system. Eleanor pursues her clients' claims with the utmost vigor and a never say die attitude. Having litigated cases ordinarily considered difficult to win to a successful outcome, Eleanor understands that her clients deserve persistence and a commitment to their cause. When Eleanor represents a person truly wronged for unlawful reasons, her passion for her clients' claims is readily apparent.
This passion and accomplishment led to Eleanor being recognized by her legal peers as a Georgia Super Lawyer Rising Star in 2007 and 2008 an award which acknowledges the top young lawyers in Georgia as chosen by Georgia Super Lawyers and through the independent research of Law & Politics.
In addition, Eleanor served as a Barrister with the Lumpkin Inn of Court. She is also a member of the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers, and a participant in the organization's 2009 Leadership Academy.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Eleanor is particularly proud of her family: her husband, three dogs, and the most recent addition, her son.
