Mr. Messina's legal career has focused primarily on litigation matters from both the plaintiff and defense sides. Mr. Messina has participated in trials in both Texas State and Federal courts, with positive results for his clients.
Mr. Messina's very diverse docket includes liquor liability (or "dram shop") cases, automobile accident cases, real estate disputes, construction disputes, partnership disputes, oil and gas disputes, and other general business and commercial matters.
Mr. Messina's litigation experience, along with his public accounting experience prior to his legal career, has also allowed his practice to include advising clients on general business matters ranging from incorporation to ongoing business affairs such as contract negotiations at the domestic and international level, intellectual property, fiduciary duty, real estate transactions, and mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Messina was born in 1975 in Waco, Texas, and has spent his entire legal career in the Dallas area. Mr. Messina graduated from Baylor University in 1998 with a BBA in accounting. After a two year career in public accounting at Ernst & Young, LLP, Mr. Messina then attended and graduated from St. Mary’s School of Law in San Antonio with a juris doctor in 2003. While at St. Mary’s, Mr Messina served as an associate editor for the St. Mary’s Law Journal and was a member of Phi Delta Phi.

Joey and his wife of twelve years, Leigh, reside in Dallas with their two sons Mack and Marshall. Joey and Leigh are active in various charitable organizations, and they are members of Highland Park United Methodist Church.
