Eric drafts and prosecutes patent applications for chemical and pharmaceutical inventions, conducts prior art searches, and assists in due diligence analysis and freedom-to-operate investigations.

Prior to joining Jones Day, Eric worked as a patent agent at Dechert LLP from 2000 to 2004. He also worked at Burroughs Wellcome and Allelix Neuroscience as a chemist where he conducted drug discovery research. Eric is listed as a co-inventor on several U.S. patents relating to glycine transport inhibitors and has published articles on the synthesis and biological effects of antineoplastic, antiviral, and antianxiety agents.
