Jeff has a wide variety of experience in complex commercial litigation and arbitration, including significant experience in all aspects of discovery, motion practice, and appellate practice in federal and state courts. Jeff's primary focus has been litigation under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act and antitrust law. He was heavily involved in Jones Day's successful representation of a consumer products manufacturer in a state and federal RICO suit against retailers and wholesalers alleged to have defrauded the manufacturer's marketing programs, as well as multiple arbitrations relating to the manufacturer's marketing contracts. Jeff is currently involved in the Firm's defense of hospitals in class action lawsuits brought under the Sherman Antitrust Act. Jeff also has experience defending corporations facing claims under the Robinson-Patman Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and various state law causes of action, such as unfair trade practices, trade libel, breach of contract, and tortious interference. Furthermore, Jeff has experience assisting with internal corporate criminal investigations.

Jeff is active in pro bono matters. He successfully represented a Vietnamese citizen in removal proceedings in immigration court, obtaining relief for the client under the United Nations Convention Against Torture. Jeff successfully defended this decision on appeal by the Department of Homeland Security up to the Executive Office for Immigration Review Board of Immigration Appeals. He also obtained a preliminary injunction in D.C. Superior Court on behalf of tenants who live in a dilapidated apartment building that requires their landlord to, among other things, provide adequate heat, remove mold, abate rodent problems, repair the fire alarm system, and routinely collect and haul away trash.
