McNab, Stewart

Kathleen focuses her practice on bankruptcy, primarily as counsel for Chapter 7 trustees. She specializes in investigating debtors' transactions, representing bankruptcy estates in administrative matters, and prosecuting avoidance actions and denial of discharge litigation. Kathleen regularly appears in federal and state courts in matters relating to the administration and recovery of property of bankruptcy estates. In addition, Kathleen represents debtors and creditors in bankruptcy-related litigation, and she has handled a number of appeals before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Prior to InnovaLaw, Kathleen was an attorney with Grochocinski, Grochocinski & Lloyd, Ltd. and Maxwell Law Group, LLC. She also served as a law clerk to Hon. A. Benjamin Goldgar (2003-2004), Hon. Robert E. Ginsberg (2002-2003), Hon. Susan Pierson Sonderby (1999-2001) and Hon. Joan B. Gottschall (1989-1997). Kathleen received a Bachelor of Arts with high honors from University of Illinois, a Masters of Science in Taxation with distinction from DePaul University, and her law degree with honors from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law. Before receiving her law degree, Kathleen worked as a certified public accountant, primarily in the field of taxation. Kathleen is fluent in Spanish, Italian and French.

Builders Plumbing Co., et al.: As counsel to Chapter 7 trustee of four jointly administered estates, prosecuted avoidance actions and brought objections to creditor claims.

marchFirst, INC., et al.: As counsel to Chapter 7 trustee, oversaw the review several thousand claims, brought omnibus claim objections, and prosecuted contested matters relating to claims, including claim objections and litigation to subordinate a $100 million claim.
