Amanda McGovern is a partner at Brown and Heller, P.A. and dedicates her full time litigation practice to international commercial matters in courts across the United States and throughout the world. Amanda has broad jury trial experience in federal and state courts. In 2010, Amanda served as a member of the Executive Council of the International Law Section of the Florida Bar and as the Chair of the Committee for International Litigation and Arbitration. She served as Chair of the Conference for International Litigation and Arbitration in 2009. Amanda also taught International Law at the University of Miami in 2007.
Originally from Minneapolis, MN, Amanda received her A-Levels in Kent, England and graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations. She speaks French and Spanish. After working for two years with Mayor Koch on urban development in New York City, Amanda attended the University of Miami School of Law. She graduated, cum laude, as Editor-in-Chief of one of its law reviews and with a scholarship for her work in the Trial Advocacy Program.
Amanda is named as one of Florida's Super Lawyers (2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011), Florida Trend's Legal Elite (2008 and 2009), Florida's Benchmark Litigators (2009), and South Florida's Top Up and Coming Lawyers (2004 and 2005). She is AV Peer Review Rated.
