In his practice with Jones Day, Keith McDole has led cases involving federal securities, corporate governance, antitrust, unfair competition, lender liability, commercial contracts, toxic tort, bankruptcy, real estate, intellectual property, environmental law, employment discrimination, defamation, and constitutional law.
Keith was senior vice president and general counsel of Occidental Chemical Corporation from 1995 to 2001. Reporting to Oxy Chem's chief executive officer, he was responsible for the company's legal activities, including corporate governance, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, intellectual property, commercial litigation, and regulatory affairs. The health, environmental, and safety organizations reported to him; and he served as the company's corporate compliance officer. From 1998 through 2000, he also served as vice president and general counsel of Oxy Services, Inc., a shared services organization, that managed most litigation matters involving Occidental Petroleum Corporation.
Keith practiced law in Chicago, Illinois from 1973 to 1985. He was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis and subsequently, Levy and Erens. During his years in Chicago, he engaged in a trial and appellate practice, primarily focusing upon complex civil cases, class actions, real estate, lender liability, and antitrust cases. He is admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and to various federal district courts. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the Dallas Bar Association and is a Fellow of the Southwest Legal Foundation. He also is a member of the board of directors of the Texas General Counsel Forum.
