David Yergey was born and raised in Orlando and is a graduate of the University of Florida, earning his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1980. He earned his law degree from the Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama in 1983. Mr. Yergey was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1983.
Mr. Yergey joined his father, D. Arthur Yergey at Yergey and Yergey, P.A. in 1983, handling a wide range of civil matters. He now practices primarily in the areas of guardianship, probate, trust administration and estate planning. He also regularly handles real estate and corporate matters. Mr. Yergey is also a licensed real estate broker.
Mr. Yergey has been member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar since 2000. He has also been member of the Orange County Bar Association since 1983 and is active in the Estates, Trusts and Guardianship Committees. Mr. Yergey has been a member of the National Association of Estate Planning Council and the Central Florida Estate Planning Council since 2000. Mr. Yergey provides pro bono service through the Citizens Dispute Settlement Program with the Orange County Bar Association and actively volunteers in the community with Lake Highland Preparatory School, The Edgewood Childrens Ranch and All Saints Episcopal Church. He is also a member of the Kiwanis Club of North Orlando.
Mr. Yergey is married. He and his wife, Barbara reside in Winter Park and have one son and two daughters. He is an avid Florida Gator fan and enjoys attending Florida football games, various outdoor activities, including hunting, boating, diving and traveling.
