J. Guy Martin III is a Cum Laude graduate from the Unviersity of Alabama, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Commerce and Business Administration majoring in Health Care Management. While at Alabama, he was involved in the publication of an online textbook by contributing an article titled 'Health Policy'. Thereafter, Guy graduated from Thomas Goode Jones School of Law with a Juris Doctorate in May of 2011. He graduated law school with honors in alternative dispute resolutions and was awarded an alternative dispute resolution certificate. While in law school, Guy received the Alabama Circuit Judge’s Association Scholarship for 2010-2011 and was a member of Phi Alpha Delta.
During his time at the University of Alabama and Jones School of Law, Guy worked in several different legal fields. These jobs included interning for the General Counsel of DCH Health Systemst, interning with the Honorable Judge William R. Sawyer of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Alabama , and clerking for James G. Martin, Jr. Attorney at Law. Guy also worked in the Mediation Clinic at Jones School of Law, where he successfully mediated numerous cases assigned to him by the Montgomery County District Court. Guy has membership in the American Bar Association, the University of Alabama Alumni Association, the University of Alabama Commerce Executives Society, and is an alumni of Sigma Nu Fraternity at the University of Alabama.
