Michael Wolin is an associate in the Litigation/Controversy Department. He joined the firm in 2010.
Practice
Mr. Wolin's practice focuses on civil litigation, with particular emphasis on intellectual property and commercial disputes. He has represented clients in various industries, including technology and pharmaceuticals. In particular, Mr. Wolin assisted a networking technology company in obtaining a judgment as a matter of law that a competitor's products infringed its patent rights after a jury failed to return a verdict on this question at trial.
In addition, Mr. Wolin represented a former regional manager for a medical device company facing Federal criminal charges that he participated in a fraudulent off-label marketing scheme. Shortly after opening statements, in what was to be a two-month jury trial, prosecutors agreed to drop these charges, stating that it was in the interests of justice to do so.
Past Experience
Prior to joining the firm Mr. Wolin worked with the Southern Environmental Law Center in Charlottesville, Virginia on water quality and natural resources issues affecting the Southeast. During law school, Mr. Wolin worked as a research assistant on administrative law issues.
