Randy was born and raised in Colorado. He grew up south of the Denver Metro area and attended Douglas County High School. In high school Randy played on the baseball team and received a variety of accolades for his on field accomplishments.
After high school Randy went to Colorado State University where he played on the nationally recognized CSU club baseball team. At CSU Randy began majoring in construction management, but ultimately switched to political science, which was the subject he graduated with a bachelor of arts in.
Following graduation from CSU, Randy completed a graduate degree prior to entering law school and was the Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach at Englewood High School. During law school Randy became involved in youth sports and coached a competitive little league baseball team in Parker, Colorado named the Colorado Sky Sox. He coached the team from the time they were eleven years old and continues to coach the team currently. Also, during law school Randy worked as a law clerk for a solo practitioner who specialized in personal injury and bad faith litigation.
After law school Randy focused his practice in the area of criminal defense. Randy has represented clients in county and district court on a variety of misdemeanor and felony charges. He has conducted over fifteen trials, both to the court and in front of juries, represented multiple clients at motion hearings, and has conducted over thirty administrative hearings. Randy now works in the pre-litigation department at the Sawaya Law Firm where his practice focuses primarily on personal injury.
