CHRIS MALINOWSKI honed his cool-under-pressure demeanor during the ten years he spent working for the Michigan Department of Corrections, in one of the nation’s largest maximum security prisons, before pursuing his legal career. Mr. Malinowski now uses his no-nonsense approach to zealously represent his clients’ interests at HMG.
A certified Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, Mr. Malinowski has been recognized in the "Top Divorce Lawyers" edition of the Northern Virginia Magazine through a peer nomination process, and has also been recognized as a "Rising Star" in Virginia Super Lawyers. He has served as an elected member of the Board of Governors of the Fairfax Bar Association's Family Law Section, and also has served on a number of bar association committees. Mr. Malinowski co-authored the Negotiating and Drafting Marital Agreements Handbook for Virginia Continuing Legal Education (CLE), and has lectured on this and other subjects such as custody, expert witnesses, and paralegal training at various CLE seminars throughout Virginia. Mr. Malinowski’s practice has been devoted exclusively to family law. He manages the Firm’s litigation practice and has successfully tried numerous complex equitable distribution, custody, spousal and child support cases, and prepared a variety of marital agreements, as well as government, military and private sector pension orders. Mr. Malinowski received his B.A. from Michigan State University and his law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where he was an assistant editor of the law review and from where he graduated cum laude. Mr. Malinowski resides in Fairfax with his wife and their sons.
