Steven Malech is a counsel in the firm's Litigation Department, as well as the firm's Antitrust and Consumer Protection and Probate Litigation practice groups.

With respect to antitrust and consumer protection, Steve's experience includes the representation of clients in connection with a broad variety of single and multi-administrative matters and investigations before federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, including the United States Federal Trade Commission, the Antitrust Division of the United States Department of Justice and the offices of state attorneys general. His experience also includes litigation of such matters in federal and state courts. Steve recently completed a major project for the ABA Section of Antitrust Law, writing and editing significant portions of the over 200 page state law chapter of "Consumer Protection Law Developments," a comprehensive treatise on state, federal and international consumer protection law.

Steve's experience in probate litigation includes the representation of beneficiaries, fiduciaries and creditors with respect to will contests, disputed accounting proceedings and alleged breaches of fiduciary duty. He has litigated such matters in the New York Surrogate's Courts, the Connecticut Probate Courts and the Connecticut Superior Court.

Steve also counsels businesses and individuals with respect to a variety of business and litigation issues, and has represented clients in complex business, employment and intellectual property matters.

Steve is a vice chair of the Membership and Equal Opportunity Committee of the ABA Section of Antitrust Law, and recently served as a member of the Government and Legal Affairs Committee of the Promotion Marketing Association. Steve is also a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Bar Association of the City of New York and the District of Columbia Bar Association (and their respective antitrust and consumer protection sections).

Mr. Malech received his B.A. with special honors in psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. He received his J.D. with honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law, where he served as an Associate Editor of the Insurance Law Journal. He is admitted to practice in Connecticut, New York and the District of Columbia.
