Mr. Wilkinson has been in the private practice of law since his admission to practice in 1962. His general practice includes, but is not limited to, Corporate Law, Business Law, Real Estate, Wills, Estate Planning, Wills and Probate and Energy. He represents both plaintiffs and defendants.
Mr. Wilkinson represented the Morris Plan Unsecured Creditors Committee in a large Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceeding and acted as debtor's council in the Farmstead Foods Chapter 7 bankruptcy proceedings. In the area of Energy law, Mr. Wilkinson did the legal work involved in the licensing, construction and sale of a hydroelectric facility in Beaverton, Michigan to a New York brokerage firm. He was also involved in the licensing of the hydroelectric facility at Starved Rock State Park in Illinois. He is currently working on all phases of the licensing and consultation process of hydroelectric projects.
While in law school, Mr. Wilkinson worked for Iowa National Mutual Insurance Company as a claims adjuster, gaining a great deal of experience in the investigation and settlement of personal injury and workers' compensation cases. Mr. Wilkinson was appointed an Assistant Linn County Attorney in 1963, and in that capacity, he represented the Linn County Board of Supervisors. As an Assistant County Attorney, and later in private practice, he handled certiorari and personal property tax cases on appeal before the Iowa Supreme Court.
Mr. Wilkinson is married to Alice. They have two grown sons. Mr. Wilkinson's interests include his family, working around his home, his dog, traveling, hiking, cross country skiing and snow shoeing.
