Mr. Wiener spent four years as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Columbia. He prosecuted federal criminal offenses and prepared briefs and argued cases before the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia.
In 1984, Mr. Wiener was appointed to serve as the Director of the Office of Special Investigations for the United States Department of Energy. The Office investigated the country's oil companies for potential civil and criminal violations of federal oil regulations. As chief trial counsel, Mr. Wiener won a judgment of $423,000,000 against an oil reseller in one of the largest civil lawsuits ever brought by the federal government against an individual.
He is an Adjunct Professor at The John Marshall Law School.
