Jim White has more than 20 years' experience in complex business litigation. His experience includes representation of clients in real estate-related litigation, regulated utility litigation, antitrust, bankruptcy, and insurance coverage matters and in significant contract disputes. He has tried antitrust, fraudulent conveyance, and numerous contract claims, including disputes related to the purchase and sale of companies, as well as real estate financing, real estate development, and automobile dealer statutes.
Jim has appeared and tried cases in state and federal courts and arbitration forums across the country and has handled appeals in state and federal courts. Recent engagements include actions concerning partnership and limited liability company (LLC) disputes in the real estate area (representing Simon Property Group and Developers Diversified Realty Corporation), the defense of purported class actions against electric utilities over power purchases and maintenance practices (representing Ameren Corporation), and a major contract action concerning the sale of engines to an automobile company (representing Navistar International Corporation). Jim also acted as lead counsel for Bayer CropScience as respondent in an arbitration related to the sale of a business, a dispute which concluded with an award in Bayer's favor on all claims.
