Sarah grew up in Maine. She attended college at the University of Maine, where she was a member of the President's Council on Women and a graduate of the Honors Program. Sarah earned a Master's in International Development from the University of York in England, where she met her husband, Tom. Sarah always wanted to be a lawyer. She began law school at Boston College in 2004. After graduating from law school, Sarah moved to Seattle with her husband. She worked for over two years for Judge Ellen Fair, a former deputy prosecuting attorney. Sarah gained experience with all aspects of civil and criminal litigation as a law clerk. In 2010 Tom was offered a position with Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center and they began the cross country drive to Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Sarah was hired by the Shelby Law Firm in 2010. Since that time, Sarah has practiced in the areas of workers' compensation and general insurance defense litigation.
