Gene West is a founding partner at West Corzine, LLP. For over 25 years, his practice has emphasized the defense of insurance companies and their insureds. He enjoys an extensive trial practice with unparalleled trial experience in cases involving product liability, general liability, bad faith defense, transportation law, construction defect litigation, mold claims, environmental insurance coverage and commercial/contract litigation. As a trial lawyer and negotiator of exceptional experience and integrity, Mr. West has represented clients in all state courts and federal courts in the State of California. In addition, Mr. West has tried cases and represented clients in dozens of states throughout the USA from New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Ohio to Wyoming, Arizona, Texas, Nebraska, Illinois, Iowa and Florida. He has also served with distinction as an arbitrator and mediator for the Los Angeles County Superior Court and the Ventura County Superior Court. Mr. West is known as an aggressive and effective trial advocate who works hard to present a vigorous defense in all phases of litigation including trial, settlement negotiations, mediation, arbitration and the deterrence of frivolous claims.

Before practicing law, Mr. West gained valuable experience working in the insurance industry as an underwriter, claims adjuster, associate risk manager and licensed insurance agent with property & casualty, life, health and disability licenses. His extensive background in insurance marketing, underwriting and claims service provides a distinct advantage to clients particularly in matters involving insurance coverage and in the defense of breach of contract and "bad faith" actions.
