Julie Loughran is an associate in the firm's Litigation Department.
Before joining Wiggin and Dana, Ms. Loughran was Litigation Counsel for Virgin Mobile USA where she managed litigation and fraud investigations on behalf of a national provider of wireless communication services.
She also served as an Assistant Solicitor General in the Office of the New York State Attorney General, where she handled numerous civil appeals in state and federal courts. An amicus curiae brief she co-authored on behalf of several states in Roper v. Simmons; 543 U.S. 551 (2005) was selected as the Best Amicus Curiae Brief of 2004 by the National Association of Attorneys General.
Ms. Loughran clerked for Judge Betty Binns Fletcher of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She received her J.D. from Stanford Law School with distinction and was elected to Order of the Coif. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Stanford University with Honors and Distinction, with an A.B in Political Science and Economics.
Julie is admitted to practice in California, Connecticut and New York.
