Steven J. Loewenthal joined the litigation section of the firm in January 2007, after practicing in New York for ten years.
Mr. Loewenthal was a partner at Heidell, Pittoni, Murphy & Bach in New York City focusing in medical malpractice and products liability litigation. During his five years at Heidell Pittoni, he gained extensive litigation experience defending physicians, hospitals, and pharmaceutical companies.
Mr. Loewenthal began his career as a criminal prosecutor in Rockland County, New York, where he served as an Assistant District Attorney handling a wide variety of felony offenses. Following his years in Rockland County, he also served for two years as a Federal Law Clerk for United States Magistrate Judge Frank Maas of the Southern District of New York.
Since joining the firm, Mr. Loewenthal has concentrated his practice on representing people who have been injured in accidents caused by automobile negligence, hazardous conditions on premises, workplace hazards, defective consumer products, industrial equipment, and professional malpractice.
Mr. Loewenthal graduated from Binghamton University in 1992 with Phi Beta Kappa honors. Mr. Loewenthal received his law degree from Columbia University School of Law in 1996. He is admitted to the New York Bar, New Jersey Bar, United States District Court of New Jersey, and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
Mr. Loewenthal currently serves as a court mediator in Morris County. He is a member of the Morris County and New Jersey Bar Associations, the American Association for Justice, and the New York Trial Lawyers Association.
