Cynthia M. Lifson graduated from Smith College, majoring in government, and from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International studies with a degree in international relations. Prior to her admission to the bar, Cynthia worked as a lobbyist for business interests and as a researcher on international projects related to developing nations in Washington, DC.
Cynthia hung out a shingle on the first Monday in October of 1993. She currently concentrates on matters related to families, including domestic relations law, estates and trusts, and small business. Since 1994, she has been the legislative counsel to the Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence. In representing victims of domestic violence before Maryland's General Assembly, Cynthia has been involved in the passage of over 50 statutes affecting Maryland's civil and criminal laws and rules of procedure in the state courts.
Cynthia has written numerous articles on diverse legal topics for local journals and is an active volunteer in various professional organizations and in her community in Central Maryland.
