Carrie A. Warner is a partner in the law firm of Warner, Payne & Black, LLP, Columbia, South Carolina. Ms. Warner comes to the practice with a diverse background in the legal field, having clerked at the Department of Justice and the Richland County Solicitor's Office in criminal prosecution before becoming partner in the firm at the age of 28. Her practice primarily focuses in family, probate, and civil litigation, appellate practice, and sports and entertainment law. A proven trial lawyer, Ms. Warner has litigated complex cases utilizing an aggressive, yet practical approach, and successfully appealed the first email hacking case by a spouse in this State, resulting in precedential law (See Jennings v. Jennings, 389 S.C. 190 (Ct. App. 2010).
Ms. Warner is licensed to practice in South Carolina, the District of Columbia, and in the United States Federal Court for the District Court of South Carolina. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Family Law Section and Sports and Entertainment Law Forum, the Richland County Bar Association, the Sports Lawyers Association, and Women in Sports and Events. An experienced trial attorney, she is a graduate of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy sponsored by the American Bar Association, Family Law Section. Ms. Warner graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2004 and received her undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina, graduating magna cum laude, and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Ms. Warner is an active volunteer for the Make a Wish Foundation, assisting terminally ill children in granting their wishes, and was a college soccer player, having earned all conference honors in women's soccer at the University of Alabama and University of South Carolina.
