Linda D. Walton is a member of the firm's Labor and Employment Law National Practice Group and a member of the firm's Strategic Diversity Committee. From Perkins Coie's Seattle offices, Ms. Walton devotes her practice to defending employers in state and federal employment-related litigation, and advising employers on employment law compliance matters. In addition to defending private sector employers in actions involving statutory and common law claims, Ms. Walton has represented public sector employers in actions involving alleged violations of the due process and equal protection clauses of state and federal constitutions. Ms. Walton also provides preventative counseling to employers in a variety of contexts, including day-to-day advice on a wide range of issues affecting the employer-employee relationship and the design and presentation of employment law training programs for managers, supervisors and human resources personnel on employment law compliance matters, including training related to unlawful workplace harassment
A frequent lecturer on the subject of employment law, Ms. Walton served for a number of years as an adjunct professor teaching Employment Discrimination Law at the Seattle University School of Law, and she has served on the faculty of both the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA), Northwest Regional Program, and the NITA Northwest Regional Deposition Program.
